The Center for Political Thought and Leadership (CPTL) invites ASU students, staff and faculty, and the community to join us for conversations concerning civic life, education, and leadership.

We host a wide array of civic education events including question and answer panels, movie nights, and community discussions.

Calling all Arizona Board of Educators!

The Educating for American Democracy (EAD) Workshop is happening this April 8th!

We are hosting a workshop where education policymakers and curriculum vendors can deepen their understanding of the ways in which the Educating for American Democracy (EAD) national civics education initiative can help connect classic American historical texts to civic participation and responsibility. This event is happening on Friday, April 8th, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at ASU Tempe.

The 2022 Civic Leadership Institute

Our Annual Summer Program starts June 12th!

The Expanded Civic Leadership Institute is coming to you at Arizona State University Tempe, in Tucson, in Flagstaff, and virtually. 

There will be no fee to attend and students who complete the program will be given a certificate of completion at a later date. There is also a $500 research opportunity for high school participants, an $850 student mentor opportunity for ASU Students, and a $2,000 project mentor opportunity for local teachers.
